Hey! So Glad You're Here.

Because this blog needs you—your feedback, your ideas, your requests. We are a faculty that has long experimented with digital pedagogy. As we rely even more heavily then ever on technology, this space for micro pedagogical development can help us channel our growth around the themes we've identified as essential.

An about page is usually about the author, and if you're new to Chapin or we haven't crossed paths much, you may wonder, why have I been asked to provide these posts? Well, it's mostly serendipity. The year when the pandemic hit, I just happened to be wrapping up my masters degree in Digital Humanities and editing for the Journal of Interactive Technology and Pedagogy, both of which have given me a lot of access to recent scholarship around teaching in a digital environment. There's a little more to it than that, but why be lengthy on a blog?

The real "About" is the team behind digital pedagogy and learning at Chapin—from our Director of Technology and tech department chairs, to the help desk, and to each of us. I'm grateful already for the feedback I received on the first post before even launching. I relied on the expertise of Hong Shepp, Vivienne Forrester, Trude Goodman, Ilana Pergam, and others.
